Anyone going?
After our flooded basement (and the subsequent expenses) threatened to wash out (teehee) our plans to attend the Midwest Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati, my husband and I have figured out a way to go for at least part of the time. We'll be heading home early to enjoy the fun of 3 soccer games and Picture Day Saturday morning, so it won't be the leisurely weekend away that we'd anticipated, but I'll take it!
Anyway, I know there are a quite a few bloggers who are planning to attend, so if you're one of them, let me know.
In other news, there's not much other news. These past couple of weeks I've felt like we've just been barely treading water. I'm finally beginning to feel like I'm really recovering from a bout with the flu, and am slowly regaining my energy. I've had to cancel almost everything these past couple of weeks, and my inbox is overflowing with e-mails to which I need to respond. I get overwhelmed thinking about how to get caught up.
After two and a half weeks, the basement is finally drying from the final carpet-cleaning, and we will soon be able to start putting our house back together. Of course, we've decided to take advantage of the upheaval and only put back half of the things (mostly toys), leaving the other half in the garage for an eventual (I can't believe I'm contemplating this let alone typing it)...Garage Sale. But that will have to wait until the end of soccer season!
I'm really hoping that this brief time away at the convention with my husband will be the refreshment I need to get back on track. Would you believe that I didn't even take a single picture on Easter, because it just sounded like too much effort? Yeah, that's pretty pathetic.
Alright, I have an endless list of things to get done today!
Grace and Peace,
Angel

Ah, sounds like a rough couple of weeks! I am empathizing with you over your flood. I just got my kitchen back after 4 1/2 weeks of not being in it much because of our flood. I hope that you and your hubby really enjoy your time away, even if it is short.
Time away will be JUST what the Dr. ordered. Wish I could meet up with you guys. sounds so fun!
I am glad you and Chris are still able to get away. I am hoping we can go to the one in IL. I still haven't figured it all out. And all your water references were cute ;)

American friend found your blog mavilhoso. I love your country. I do not want to make the Brazilian President to the IMF money. And our people need a good medical care, public safety and so on. Hug a friend of the Manoel Limoeiro Brazil.
